It was chilly and a tad windy for the pursuit and for berthing with gusts of 35Kn straight off the pontoon! Well done Melody for winning the Pursuit and clearing a rope from the prop while berthing. Is the AP1 result just the start for Baldur? Fixation found the Swedes too close for comfort. Congratulations to Peter(tactics) & Barbara(helm).

What a weekend, atrocious weather, F8 gusts and torrential rain on Saturday and boats becalmed in Hayling Bay on the Sunday! Six hardy crews and their boats made it to the Folly and of these three retired. Suffice to say that Sailing Committee will look at the Sailing Instructions!

Yoke Inter-Club 2012 Result - Posted on September 19th 2012 - PDF1
Slipper has once again retained the Yoke and by a more comfortable margin than last year. Congratulations to the whole fleet. A great sail and an excellent evening at Mercury where the ESC Commodore, in his after dinner speech, was very generous to ESSC, for which we thank him.

It was a good day on the water. Well done to Fixation, but there was a sparkling performance by En Saga in second place beating Melody by just 17 seconds on corrected time - congratulations to Frank. It was good also to see Mike Austen's Luna out for the first time - its result surely makes it the boat to watch out for next year!

AP5 Cruiser Race - Posted on September 18th 2012 - PDF1
Talk about putting a marker down - first time out of the harbour and first time the spinnaker had been flown and the diminutive Luna leads the fleet home. Well done to Mike. Well done to Sally T as well, helmed singlehanded by John to a very creditable 5th place ahead of some larger fin keeled boats.

22 Yachts entered the 2012 Cruiser Regatta. The fluky winds and strong tides at Boulder were testing conditions for all. There were 15 finishers including our slowest entry Paddington! Results attached.
