Slipper Youth Sailing
Welcome to the Youth section of the Emsworth Slipper website.
Youth activities at the club are mainly based around 'Wednesday Night Sailing' but we also organize other activities at weekends including improvers sailing, junior racing and a youth cruise.
 The majority of our sailing takes place between April and October. To qualify as a youth you will need to be between secondary school age and under 18 yrs. Youth sailors can join the club in their own right once they are 12 years of age and do not require parents to be members.
Our aim is to teach sailing through fun, informative sessions on the Millpond and the harbour. We have access to club boats, which consist of Optimists, Toppers, Fevas, a Wayfarer and a Laser Stratos. The club is an RYA recognised Training Centre and a Volvo Champion Club and all youth sessions are led by qualified RYA Senior Instructors and supported by RYA Dinghy Instructors.
Our youth sailors have a wide range of abilities from complete novices up to national and international competitors. We adopt the club’s self-help ethos and encourage our youths to take an active role in the section with many becoming qualified dinghy instructors.
